My name is Azlene Owens and I am “the all black girl”. I’m 22 years old and I’m from Singapore. I’m known as “the all black girl” because I love black color and most of my clothes and things are of dark colors. So I named this magazine after my nickname to share about my interest in dark beauty.

“Dark beauty” is basically beauty for the dark and mysterious. It is inspired by history and it ranges from Gothic to vintage and anything in between. I love historical beauty, the kind of beauty from the earlier time. I’m talking about the time of civilization between Victorian era of the 19th century and vintage of the 20th century.

This magazine is also inspired by Twilight, the vampire story created by Stephanie Meyer. I like the idea of the Cullen vampires adapting to modern life by dressing based on the era they were born in with modern clothes. This is the concept of THEALLBLACKGIRL magazine – history in modern time.
