Selene Underworld versus Aeon Flux
I was watching Aeon Flux on TV last night and it reminded me of a similar heroine – Selene of the Underworld. I’m not a big sci-fi fan but I kind of liked Charlize Theron in that film. I liked her bob-cut hair and I admired her tall slim physique. Did you know that there was a controversy about the film? It was said to be loosely adapted based upon the animated series created by Korean-American animator Peter Chung. The anime fans were disappointed when they saw the film as it “bear little resemblance to the original full-length animated series.” Read more here.
Before we go to the table of comparison, let’s watch the movie trailers first.
Noticed the similarities between Selene of the Underworld and Aeon Flux? Besides the fact that they are both female, they used guns as weapons and they can really fight. Plus, they both wore tight sexy black outfits that bring out their fair complexion and slim build.
Now, let’s see the differences. I have included my vote in every comparison.
Selene vs. Aeon
Based on the table, most of my votes go to Selene. I’m a fan of fantasy film and Underworld is one of my favorite movies. However, I’d choose Aeon for her style because I wouldn’t cut my hair neck short like Selene and wear a pair of buckly calf-high boots on the street.
I would call both characters dark beauty because Selene was born in the earlier century and she was historical to us today. Aeon, on the other hand, existed in the 25th century and she was a mere clone of her ancestor, Katherine, which I think made her historical – only 400 years’ time in the future.
There you have it! The best of both worlds.
